built different on purpose

The grocery benefit
without the catch.

Other “grocery schemes” are gated behind salary-sacrifice paperwork, capped at employees earning above minimum wage, and carry HMRC risk. Grocery Reward isn’t. It’s a dedicated digital card, filled by the employee from their gross salary, that pays for itself the moment your team walks into the shop.

01

Inclusive by design

Everyone saves the full amount, no exceptions. Whether full-time, part-time, contractor, zero-hours, on or below minimum wage, basic or higher rate taxpayer.

02

Stacks with everything

Loyalty cards, vouchers, discount codes — all still work on top. Your team don't lose a single penny they were already saving.

03

Use it anywhere

Wherever they shop — tap to pay in-store, paste at checkout online. Same card. Both channels. All 15 retailers.

04

No signal? No problem.

Works offline once the card's loaded into your wallet, no signal needed. Pay through a supermarket dead-zone, no problem.

05

Use your phone. That's it.

Add to Apple, Google and Samsung Wallet so paying is seamless — no extra apps, no checkout friction.

06

No payroll, no salary sacrifice

It's a reward, not a deduction. Skips minimum-wage rules entirely. Your finance team will thank us.

finance team’s favourite section

The questions you’ll be asked.

No — and that's the point. Grocery Reward is a pre-loaded digital card paid for via your supermarket partners' margin, not a payroll deduction. There are no minimum-wage checks, no NIC clawbacks, no opt-in paperwork. It works for every employee on day one, regardless of pay or contract type.

It doesn't need to. Provisioning is fully self-serve from the Perky app — your team enrol themselves and the cards land in their wallet. We'll happily SSO into your HRIS for headcount sync if you want it (Bamboo, HiBob, People HR, etc), but it isn't required.

Your employee tops up the card with whatever they're about to spend — say £50 for the weekly shop. Perky adds an average uplift of 9.5% (it varies by retailer, ~7-12%), so £50 out of pocket lands as £54.75 to spend at the till. It's a genuine cost-of-living beater — real spending power, every shop, on top of any Clubcard, Nectar or voucher codes they're already using.

Grocery Reward is part of the Reward Bundle add-on — a flat £1.50 per employee per month on top of any Perky plan (Attract £3.75, Engage £4.50, Retain £5.25). That £1.50 covers the full reward catalogue (Grocery Reward, Fuel Saver+, Daily Brew and the rest), not just groceries. NI savings on the rest of your benefits stack already cover Perky's platform fee — the Reward Bundle is upside on top of that.

They get the full benefit. Because nothing is deducted from gross pay, there's no risk of dropping below the National Minimum Wage. This is the single biggest reason finance teams pick Grocery Reward over a traditional voucher scheme.

Yes. Once the digital card is loaded into Apple, Google or Samsung Wallet, payment works offline at the till. Top-up itself does need a connection (it's a card-load), but checkout doesn't.

Switch it on inside Perky and your team can be loading cards within an hour. There's no integration project, no migration, no implementation fee. If you're not sure about Perky, try the platform free for 30 days; if you don't see the value, walk away.
